ApoptiCIDe-RGT-MitoX-001 is a regulated gene therapy (RGT) candidate developed by Phoenix SENOLYTIX, a subsidiary of SENOTHERAPEUTIX, for the treatment of age-related disorders. The therapy is part of the company's MitoX program and utilizes proprietary MitoXcel Technology to address mitochondrial dysfunction. It incorporates an enhanced cell elimination switch based on the inducible Caspase-9 (iCasp9) rimiducid-triggered system, originally developed as CaspaCIDe by Bellicum Pharmaceuticals. This regulated format allows for controlled therapeutic protein production that can be rapidly reduced or eliminated within hours of administering the proprietary small molecule rimiducid formulation PTC-1202, which acts as a dimerizer to trigger the switch.
