Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APP13002 is an ophthalmic antibiotic formulation being developed by Formosa Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of various anterior ocular infections, including conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, and meibomian gland dysfunction. The drug is developed using Formosa's proprietary Active Pharmaceutical Nanoparticle Technology (APNT®) platform, which reduces the particle size of active pharmaceutical ingredients to the nanometer scale to enhance dissolution and bioavailability in ocular tissues. It is being developed via the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway, indicating it is a new formulation of a previously approved antibiotic. APP13002 targets a broad range of bacterial pathogens causing eye infections and is currently in IND-enabling stages of development.
