Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APR-ED022 is an investigational topical ophthalmic formulation developed by APR Applied Pharma Research (a subsidiary of Relief Therapeutics) for use in eye surgery. The product utilizes the proprietary TEHCLO® Applied Nanotechnology platform, which produces a stable, pH-neutral, super-oxidized solution containing a high concentration of hypochlorous acid (HOCl). This formulation is designed to mimic the natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory response of the human immune system, specifically the oxidative burst of neutrophils. In the context of ophthalmic surgery, APR-ED022 is intended to provide perioperative support by preventing infection and managing inflammation, thereby facilitating the healing process. The TEHCLO® technology ensures the stability and biocompatibility of the HOCl solution, making it suitable for sensitive applications such as ocular surgery.
