APREBION Kit

APREBION Kit is an oral antiemetic medication developed and marketed by Symbion Life Science. It contains aprepitant, a selective, high-affinity antagonist of human substance P/neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptors. Aprepitant works by blocking the binding of substance P, a neuropeptide involved in the emetic reflex, to NK1 receptors in the brain. This inhibition effectively prevents both acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with highly and moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (CINV). The APREBION Kit is typically provided as a 3-capsule pack (one 125 mg and two 80 mg capsules) to cover a three-day treatment cycle. In addition to CINV, it is also indicated for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in adults.
