Overview

APSC (Activated Pluripotent Stem Cell) is a first-in-class, allogeneic regenerative cell therapy developed by APstem Therapeutics for the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. The therapy is based on a proprietary platform called Guide-Integrated Adult Stem Cells (giaSCs), which produces 'off-the-shelf' adult pluripotent stem cells compatible with multiple recipients without the need for encapsulation or systemic immunosuppression. Administered via subcutaneous injection, APSC utilizes a dual mechanism of action: it stimulates the regeneration of lost insulin-producing pancreatic β-cells and modulates the immune system to suppress autoimmune inflammation. Long-term animal studies have demonstrated an excellent safety profile with no evidence of tumorigenicity.
