Overview

APT-110 is a first-in-class antagomir (antisense oligonucleotide) developed by AptamiR Therapeutics. It specifically targets and inhibits microRNA-22-3p (miR-22-3p), a key regulator of metabolic homeostasis. By silencing miR-22-3p, APT-110 aims to modulate metabolic pathways involved in lipid and glucose metabolism. The drug is being developed for the treatment of obesity, metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), and type 2 diabetes. Preclinical studies, including pre-IND toxicology in mice and non-human primates, have been completed, demonstrating its potential to reduce body weight and improve metabolic parameters.
