Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aptamin C is an innovative single-stranded DNA aptamer (specifically s-DNA Aptamer-2) developed by Nexmos that binds to the reduced form of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to stabilize it and delay its oxidation. By preventing oxidative degradation, Aptamin C maximizes the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory efficacy of vitamin C. It is developed as a dietary supplement, cosmetic ingredient, and therapeutic agent. In clinical and preclinical studies, Aptamin C has demonstrated efficacy in enhancing natural killer (NK) cell activity, improving skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and pruritus, and, in combination with vitamin C (as NXP031), providing neuroprotective effects in models of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and vascular dementia.
