APX3530 is a small molecule inhibitor developed by Apexian Pharmaceuticals that targets the redox signaling function of Apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1/Redox effector factor 1 (APE1/Ref-1). As a second-generation analog of the lead compound APX3330, APX3530 is designed to inhibit the redox-mediated activation of transcription factors such as NF-κB, STAT3, and HIF-1α, which are critical drivers of tumor growth, angiogenesis, and inflammatory responses. By selectively blocking the Ref-1 redox activity without interfering with the protein's essential DNA repair function, APX3530 is being investigated for the treatment of various solid tumors and potentially other conditions where APE1/Ref-1 signaling is dysregulated.
