APZ003

APZ003 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar of cetuximab, currently in preclinical development by Foshan Ampze Biopharma (also known as Annpobio). As a biosimilar of cetuximab, APZ003 is designed to target and bind to the extracellular domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). This binding competitively inhibits the interaction between EGFR and its natural ligands, such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-α), thereby blocking the downstream signaling pathways (including the MAPK, PI3K/Akt, and JAK/STAT pathways) that drive tumor cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis. APZ003 is being developed for the treatment of various EGFR-expressing solid tumors, following the established clinical profile of the reference product, which is primarily indicated for metastatic colorectal cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
