Overview

AQ001M is a reformulated budesonide inhalation product developed by Aquilon Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of asthma. It utilizes a proprietary cyclodextrin-based excipient technology (HP-Betadex complex) to solubilize budesonide in water, enabling ultra-low dose delivery to the deep lung via soft mist inhalers. By improving the pharmacology and lung deposition of the corticosteroid compared to conventional products, AQ001M aims to reduce airway inflammation through the activation of the glucocorticoid receptor while potentially minimizing systemic side effects associated with higher doses.
