Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AQ002M (also known as AQ002&3M) is an investigational, ultra-low-dose fixed combination of the inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) budesonide and the long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) formoterol. Developed by Aquilon Pharma, AQ002M is formulated using the company's proprietary cyclodextrin-based excipient technology (HP-Betadex), which enhances the solubility of the active ingredients in water. This formulation is specifically optimized for delivery via a Soft Mist Inhaler (SMI), aiming to improve lung deposition, prolong airway activity, and minimize local and systemic side effects at lower doses. It is currently in early-stage development for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
