Overview

AQ312 is a potent and selective small molecule agonist of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), developed for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, particularly ulcerative colitis. It stimulates the activation of regulatory T-cells locally in the gut, which is a natural anti-inflammatory mechanism. Activation of AhR by AQ312 restores immune system homeostasis via regulatory T-cells, suppresses effector T-cell-driven inflammation, and accelerates healing of the intestinal epithelium. The drug has demonstrated therapeutic benefit in preclinical models of experimental colitis[1][2][5].
