Overview

**AQST-305** is an investigational **sublingual film formulation of octreotide** being developed by **Aquestive Therapeutics** using its **PharmFilm** delivery technology. Octreotide is a synthetic somatostatin analog peptide that exerts its therapeutic effect primarily by activating somatostatin receptors, especially **somatostatin receptor 2** and **somatostatin receptor 5**, thereby suppressing excess growth hormone secretion and other endocrine and neuroendocrine secretory activity. AQST-305 has been positioned as a noninvasive alternative to injectable long-acting octreotide products for **acromegaly**, and has also been described for **severe diarrhea and flushing associated with carcinoid syndrome**. Publicly described development indicates early clinical evaluation, including a **Phase 1 human proof-of-concept study**.
