AqT-Cryptophycin Analog I is a specialized small molecule cytotoxin developed by AqueaTether Therapeutics, a subsidiary of CellMosaic, for use as a payload in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The molecule consists of a potent cryptophycin analog coupled with the proprietary AqT (AqueaTether) technology, which utilizes a highly hydrophilic, non-immunogenic tether to enhance the solubility and conjugation properties of the hydrophobic payload. Cryptophycins are a class of macrocyclic depsipeptides that function as potent antimitotic agents by binding to the vinca alkaloid site on tubulin. This binding disrupts microtubule dynamics, leading to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and subsequent apoptosis. AqT-Cryptophycin Analog I is designed to overcome common ADC challenges such as payload aggregation and poor pharmacokinetics, providing a platform for the development of targeted cancer therapies.
