Overview

AqT-DM1 is a proprietary antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) payload developed by AqueaTether Therapeutics, a subsidiary of CellMosaic. It consists of the potent microtubule-disrupting agent DM1 (mertansine), a maytansinoid derivative, which is conjugated to the AqueaTether (AqT) platform technology. The AqT technology utilizes a highly hydrophilic, non-immunogenic tether designed to improve the aqueous solubility of hydrophobic payloads like DM1, thereby enhancing conjugation efficiency and the pharmacokinetic properties of the resulting ADC. DM1 exerts its cytotoxic effect by binding to tubulin, which inhibits microtubule polymerization and leads to cell cycle arrest in mitosis followed by apoptosis. AqT-DM1 is intended for use as a platform asset in the development of targeted therapies for various types of cancer.
