AqT Therapeutics is developing a proprietary small-molecule STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) agonist specifically designed to serve as a payload for Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs). STING is a transmembrane protein that plays a critical role in the innate immune system by sensing cytosolic DNA and triggering the production of Type I interferons and pro-inflammatory cytokines. By conjugating these agonists to tumor-targeting antibodies, AqT aims to achieve localized activation of the STING pathway within the tumor microenvironment, thereby stimulating a potent anti-tumor immune response while minimizing the systemic inflammatory side effects typically associated with non-targeted STING agonists. This asset is currently positioned for evaluation in various oncology indications as part of AqT's platform for advanced drug delivery.
