AqT-UM171 is a specialized small molecule conjugate developed by AqueaTether Therapeutics, a subsidiary or partner of CellMosaic. It consists of the hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) self-renewal agonist UM171 modified with the proprietary AqueaTether (AqT) technology. UM171 is a pyrimidoindole derivative that promotes the *ex vivo* expansion of human long-term HSCs, which is particularly useful for enhancing the efficacy of umbilical cord blood transplants. The AqT modification utilizes a highly hydrophilic, non-immunogenic polymer tether to improve the solubility and conjugation properties of the UM171 payload. Mechanistically, UM171 acts by facilitating the degradation of the CoREST complex subunits, specifically RCOR1 and LSD1, which leads to the expansion of primitive hematopoietic cells. AqT-UM171 is primarily utilized as a platform reagent for *ex vivo* HSC modulation and research applications.
