Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aquadol TPM Gel is a topical gel formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) diclofenac (specifically diclofenac diethylamine 1.16% w/w, equivalent to diclofenac sodium 1% w/w). Developed by Themis Medicare in partnership with Avecho Biotechnology (formerly Phosphagenics), the formulation utilizes Avecho's proprietary Tocopheryl Phosphate Mixture (TPM) drug delivery technology. TPM is derived from Vitamin E and acts as a transdermal permeation enhancer, self-assembling into nanostructures that facilitate the localized delivery of diclofenac through the skin. Aquadol TPM Gel is approved and marketed in India for the localized treatment of pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, sports injuries, sprains, and strains.
