**Aquasurge** is an ophthalmic lubricant eye drop formulation primarily used for the treatment of **dry eyes**. It contains **carboxymethylcellulose** (also known as sodium carboxymethylcellulose or carmellose), typically at 0.5% or 1% concentration (e.g., Aquasurge Max at 1%), which acts as an artificial tear substitute. The active ingredient mimics natural tears by providing lubrication, stabilizing the tear film, increasing tear retention time due to its high viscosity, and protecting the ocular surface from irritation caused by dryness, wind, sun exposure, prolonged screen use, or post-surgical recovery (e.g., after laser or cataract surgery).
