Overview

AR-201 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody (mAb) developed by Aridis Pharmaceuticals for the prevention and treatment of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections. Discovered using the proprietary MabIgX® technology platform, the antibody was isolated from the B-cells of an infant who had naturally recovered from an RSV infection. AR-201 targets the highly conserved F-protein (fusion protein) of RSV, demonstrating a viral neutralization potency more than ten-fold greater than palivizumab (Synagis). It is specifically engineered to bind to palivizumab-resistant isolates and possesses an extended plasma half-life, enabling a single-dose regimen to provide protection throughout an entire RSV season. The program is licensed exclusively to the Serum Institute of India for clinical development and commercialization.
