Overview

AR-711 is a fully human IgG1 neutralizing monoclonal antibody against SARS-CoV-2, originally derived from receptor-binding domain–specific B cells isolated from convalescent COVID-19 patients and further engineered for extended serum half-life and stability for aerosol delivery. It potently blocks interaction of the viral spike protein receptor-binding domain with ACE2, resulting in inhibition of viral entry and replication, and has demonstrated strong prophylactic and therapeutic efficacy in preclinical SARS-CoV-2 challenge models at markedly lower doses than systemically administered COVID-19 antibodies. Developed by Aridis Pharmaceuticals, AR-711 is being advanced primarily as an inhaled, self-administered treatment for non-hospitalized patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 and is also a key component of the AR-701 antibody cocktail program targeting broader coronavirus coverage.[4][10][13][16][19][21][22][24]
