Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**AR-713** is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Aridis Pharmaceuticals as one component of the AR-712 COVID-19 therapeutic cocktail, alongside AR-711. It targets the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, neutralizing the virus by preventing viral entry into host cells via binding to ACE2 receptor. AR-713 demonstrates extended neutralization activity against SARS-CoV-2 variants bearing the E484K mutation, including Brazilian and South African strains, enhancing potency against emerging variants. It was evaluated in preclinical models for both prophylactic and therapeutic efficacy against COVID-19, particularly in non-hospitalized patients via inhaled administration.
