Overview

AR08 is a small molecule drug that acts as an adrenergic receptor alpha-2 (ADRA2) agonist. It was developed by Arbor Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents, as well as vasomotor symptoms in menopausal females. The drug functions by stimulating alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, which are involved in modulating neurotransmitter release and vascular tone. Despite reaching phase 2 clinical trials for both ADHD and vasomotor symptoms, development of AR08 has been discontinued for these indications[3][5].
