Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AR100DP1 is a topical ointment formulation of ovatodiolide, a natural macrocyclic diterpenoid originally identified by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and currently under development by Arjil Pharmaceuticals LLC. It functions as an immunomodulator and anti-inflammatory agent, primarily investigated for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. The drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of inflammatory pathways, including the NF-kappaB signaling pathway and the NLRP3 inflammasome, which are key drivers of skin inflammation. AR100DP1 received FDA Investigational New Drug (IND) approval in October 2020 and has been evaluated in Phase I/IIa clinical trials (NCT04220411) to determine its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in healthy subjects and patients with atopic dermatitis.
