Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AR201 is an investigational oral immunotherapy developed by Aimmune Therapeutics (a subsidiary of Nestle Health Science) for the treatment of hen egg allergy. It is based on the Characterised Oral Desensitisation ImmunoTherapy (CODIT) platform, which involves desensitizing patients with defined amounts of key allergens to provide protection against allergic reactions. The therapy was designed as a standardized regimen using dried egg white protein to induce desensitization in individuals with egg allergies. The drug reached Phase II clinical trials but development has since been discontinued[1][3][4][7].
