Overview

AraHH001 is a DNA aptamer developed by researchers at Hokkaido University using a cell-based SELEX (systemic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment) method. It is designed to specifically target cell surface proteins or biomarkers expressed on tumor endothelial cells (TECs), which play a critical role in tumor angiogenesis and metastasis. AraHH001 exhibits high binding affinity in the nanomolar range for TECs, including human tumor endothelial cells isolated from renal carcinoma patients, while showing no significant binding to normal skin endothelial cells or tumor parenchymal cells. It is being investigated as a potential targeted molecular probe for drug delivery systems, biomarker identification, and anti-angiogenic cancer therapy.
