Overview
ARAPENTA is a pentavalent vaccine developed and marketed by the Arab Company for Pharmaceutical Products (AraBio). It is designed for the active immunization of infants and children against five major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). The vaccine is a combination product typically containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, inactivated Bordetella pertussis (often the whole-cell form in regional formulations), recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and Hib capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a carrier protein. By integrating these five antigens into a single injection, ARAPENTA simplifies pediatric immunization schedules, reduces the number of required injections, and improves overall vaccination compliance. It is approved and marketed in Saudi Arabia and other regional markets.
