Arctuvan is a herbal medicinal product indicated for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract, such as cystitis. Its active ingredient is a dry extract from bear grape leaves, primarily containing arbutin. Arbutin is metabolized in the body to hydroquinone, which exerts antibacterial and antiseptic effects within the urinary tract, inhibiting the growth and killing of bacteria and fungi responsible for these infections. The product is manufactured by Klinge Pharma GmbH and is available as film-coated tablets for oral administration.
