Overview

ARD-201 is an investigational oral fixed-dose small-molecule combination being developed by Aardvark Therapeutics for obesity and obesity-related conditions. It combines ARD-101, a gut-localized bitter taste receptor type 2 agonist intended to stimulate enteroendocrine release of satiety-associated gut peptides including cholecystokinin and glucagon-like peptide 1, with the dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor sitagliptin, which is intended to prolong incretin signaling. The planned POWER and STRENGTH programs were designed to assess prevention of weight regain after discontinuation of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist therapy and weight loss, respectively. Aardvark reported in May 2026 that ARD-201 development had been voluntarily paused. ([aardvarktherapeutics.com](https://aardvarktherapeutics.com/programs/))
