Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ARDOXSO is an exosome-based therapy derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), developed by AVEM HealthCare. It is designed to treat severe respiratory conditions, specifically COVID-19 associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and viral pneumonia. The therapy leverages the natural immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of MSC-derived extracellular vesicles. These exosomes contain bioactive molecules such as proteins, lipids, and RNA that can modulate the host immune response, potentially mitigating the "cytokine storm" often seen in severe COVID-19 cases. By reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines and promoting tissue repair, ARDOXSO aims to improve lung function and reduce mortality in critically ill patients.
