Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Argania spinosa oil, commonly known as argan oil, is a vegetable oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree (*Argania spinosa* L.) endemic to Morocco. It is characterized by a high content of oleic and linoleic fatty acids, as well as significant concentrations of tocopherols (Vitamin E), polyphenols, and sterols. In therapeutic contexts, it is utilized for its potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and emollient properties. Orally, it is studied for its ability to improve lipid profiles and cardiovascular health by modulating cholesterol levels. Topically, it is used to enhance skin barrier function, improve hydration, and mitigate the effects of skin aging and inflammatory dermatoses.
