Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Argensept is an ophthalmic antiseptic solution containing silver clusters (nanosilver). It is primarily utilized in Russia for the treatment of inflammatory and infectious diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, including dry eye syndrome, blepharitis, and conjunctivitis. The silver clusters exhibit broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity by interacting with bacterial cell walls, disrupting membrane integrity, and inhibiting essential bacterial enzymes. In clinical practice, Argensept is often used in combination with physiotherapeutic methods such as magnetophoresis to enhance drug penetration and therapeutic efficacy. Recent clinical evaluations have demonstrated its effectiveness in improving tear production and tear film stability in patients with mild to moderate dry eye syndrome.
