Overview

This is a combination of two agents, L-arginine and bromocriptine. Bromocriptine is an ergot alkaloid derivative and a dopamine D2 receptor agonist, used primarily for the treatment of hyperprolactinemia, acromegaly, Parkinson's disease, and type 2 diabetes. It acts by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain to lower prolactin levels, reduce growth hormone secretion, improve motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease, and enhance insulin sensitivity without increasing insulin levels[1][2][5]. L-arginine is a semi-essential amino acid that serves as a precursor for nitric oxide synthesis and plays roles in immune function and vascular health. In preclinical studies (rat models), the combination of bromocriptine with L-arginine has shown potential to reduce early neoplastic changes in liver carcinogenesis associated with diabetes—possibly via activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which acts as a metabolic tumor suppressor[4]. This combination is not an established or approved pharmaceutical product but has been studied experimentally.
