Drug intelligence / Profile preview
R&D 061 LAI is a long-acting injectable (LAI) formulation of the atypical antipsychotic **aripiprazole**, developed by **Bostal Drug Delivery** (also known as Bostal Pharma). The drug is designed for intramuscular administration with dosing schedules of once monthly (1M) and once every three months (3M). Aripiprazole functions as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and as an antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, a profile that helps stabilize neurotransmitter activity in the brain. R&D 061 LAI utilizes Bostal's proprietary drug delivery technology to provide sustained therapeutic plasma concentrations, aiming to improve treatment adherence and clinical outcomes for patients with schizophrenia and other neuroscience-related disorders. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical development.
