Overview

ARL4C ASO-3223 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) designed to downregulate the expression of ADP-ribosylation factor-like 4C (ARL4C), a GTP-binding protein implicated in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Preclinical studies, primarily in in vitro and mouse models, have shown that ARL4C ASOs (including ASO-3223) can suppress ARL4C mRNA expression, inhibit cancer cell migration and proliferation, and reduce tumor growth, particularly in liver cancer[2]. The mechanism involves binding to ARL4C mRNA, leading to its degradation or translational inhibition, thereby interfering with pathways that promote cancer cell survival and proliferation[2]. The development focus is on targeted therapy for cancers with high ARL4C expression, such as liver, lung, and colorectal cancers[2].
