ARM1, also known as 4-(4-benzylphenyl) thiazol-2-amine, is a small molecule that functions as a selective inhibitor of the epoxide hydrolase activity of leukotriene A4 hydrolase (LTA4H). LTA4H is a key enzyme in the 5-lipoxygenase pathway, responsible for converting leukotriene A4 to the inflammatory mediator leukotriene B4 (LTB4). By inhibiting LTA4H's epoxide hydrolase activity, ARM1 aims to block LTB4 production and reduce inflammation. Preclinical studies have shown its ability to reduce LTB4 levels in a murine bacterial pneumonia model.
