Overview

Armixa is a biosimilar adalimumab product developed by Laboratorios Richmond in Argentina as a similar biological to AbbVie’s TNF inhibitor Humira for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.[1][10] It is a recombinant human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to soluble and membrane-bound tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), blocking its interaction with TNF receptors and thereby inhibiting downstream pro‑inflammatory signaling cascades involved in diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, and related indications.[1][10][16][17] By neutralizing TNF‑α, Armixa reduces inflammation, joint destruction, and systemic manifestations of immune‑mediated disorders, and is supplied as a subcutaneous injectable formulation similar in presentation and indications to reference adalimumab.[10][16]
