Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ArmonAir RespiClick (fluticasone propionate MDPI) is an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) monotherapy developed by Teva for the maintenance treatment of asthma in adolescent and adult patients. It is delivered via Teva's proprietary RespiClick device, which is a breath-actuated, multi-dose dry powder inhaler (MDPI) designed to eliminate the need for hand-breath coordination during inhalation. The active ingredient, fluticasone propionate, is a synthetic trifluorinated corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity. It functions as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor, leading to the inhibition of multiple inflammatory cell types (such as mast cells, eosinophils, and lymphocytes) and the secretion of mediators (such as histamine and cytokines) involved in the asthmatic response. By reducing airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness, it helps prevent asthma symptoms and exacerbations.
