Overview

ARMR-100 is an experimental anti-fentanyl conjugate vaccine and immunotherapy developed by ARMR Sciences in collaboration with the University of Houston. It is designed to stimulate the immune system to produce high-affinity antibodies that bind to fentanyl in the bloodstream, preventing it from crossing the blood-brain barrier and interacting with mu-opioid receptors. By sequestering fentanyl in the blood, ARMR-100 blocks both the euphoric effects and the potentially lethal respiratory depressant effects of the drug. The vaccine formulation consists of a fentanyl-like hapten conjugated to a CRM197 carrier protein (a detoxified diphtheria toxin) and formulated with a dmLT adjuvant (a double-mutant heat-labile enterotoxin from *E. coli*). ARMR-100 is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development for the prevention of fentanyl overdose and as a supportive pharmacological tool in opioid use disorder recovery.
