Overview
Arnebia Indigo Jade Pearl (AIJP) is an investigational Chinese herbal topical cream developed for the treatment of anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL), a precursor to anal cancer. The formulation is based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and contains extracts from *Arnebia euchroma* (Zicao), *Indigo naturalis* (Qingdai), and other ingredients such as pearl powder and nephrite (jade). AIJP is hypothesized to work through anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antiproliferative mechanisms, specifically targeting cells infected with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). It is primarily being studied in HIV-positive populations as a topical, patient-applied or clinician-applied alternative to invasive procedures like infrared coagulation or surgical excision.
