ARNT siRNA is a double-stranded RNA molecule designed to silence the expression of the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Nuclear Translocator (ARNT) gene, also known as HIF-1β, through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway. ARNT is a critical bHLH-PAS transcription factor that serves as a common obligate heterodimerization partner for several other proteins, most notably the Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) and the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR). By knocking down ARNT levels, this siRNA effectively disrupts the formation of functional HIF-1 and AhR transcriptional complexes, thereby inhibiting the cellular response to hypoxia (including angiogenesis and glycolysis) and the response to environmental toxins or xenobiotics. While primarily utilized as a high-precision research tool in molecular biology and oncology to study gene regulation and tumor microenvironment dynamics, ARNT remains a target of interest for therapeutic development in solid tumors where hypoxia-driven pathways promote progression and resistance.
