Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Arnuity Ellipta is a once-daily inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) containing fluticasone furoate, developed by GSK for the maintenance treatment of asthma. It is delivered via the Ellipta dry powder inhaler. Fluticasone furoate is a synthetic trifluorinated corticosteroid with high affinity for the glucocorticoid receptor, exerting potent anti-inflammatory effects in the airways. It is indicated for the long-term, prophylactic treatment of asthma in patients aged 5 years and older. The medication works by reducing airway inflammation and is available in multiple strengths (50 mcg, 100 mcg, and 200 mcg) to allow for tailored therapy. It is not intended for the relief of acute bronchospasm or sudden breathing problems.
