Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aroclav-LB is an oral combination antibiotic and probiotic tablet developed and marketed by Aareen Healthcare in India. It contains amoxicillin (500mg), a beta-lactam antibiotic that targets bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs); clavulanic acid (125mg), a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from enzymatic degradation by resistant bacteria; and Lactobacillus (60 million spores), a probiotic included to maintain healthy gut flora and prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea. This combination is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects commonly associated with broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy.
