Overview

ARP02 is an investigational mRNA-based therapeutic vaccine developed by Wuhan Infectious Diseases Hospital (Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital) for the treatment of recurrent genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). The vaccine is designed to encode specific HSV-2 antigens, which, upon administration, stimulate the host's immune system to mount both humoral and cellular responses. The primary goal of the therapy is to reduce the frequency and severity of symptomatic outbreaks and viral shedding in individuals with established HSV-2 infections. ARP02 is currently being evaluated in exploratory clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity.
