Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ARS-2 is an investigational intranasal epinephrine spray being developed by ARS Pharmaceuticals for the acute treatment of symptoms in adults with chronic spontaneous urticaria whose disease remains uncontrolled on standard therapy. ARS-2 delivers epinephrine via the nasal mucosa to rapidly counteract mast cell–mediated type I hypersensitivity reactions and reduce hives and pruritus during urticaria flares, offering a needle-free alternative to injectable epinephrine. It is being evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled outpatient studies at doses around 0.5–1 mg for its efficacy, onset of action, and safety in this population.[1][3][5][8]
