Overview

**Arsenene-Vanadene nanodots** are an experimental tumor-microenvironment-responsive inorganic nanomedicine being investigated for **triple-negative breast cancer**. The AsV nanodots release arsenic and vanadium within tumors: arsenic is reported to generate cytotoxic trivalent arsenic and promote apoptosis while binding cysteine and reducing glutathione synthesis; vanadium redox cycling promotes Fenton-like lipid peroxidation. Together, glutathione depletion and glutathione peroxidase 4 inactivation intensify ferroptosis, producing damage-associated molecular patterns and potentially enhancing antitumor immune responses. The system has been described in a 2025 peer-reviewed preclinical publication and has no reported clinical development stage or marketed product status.
