The vaccine contains a chemically induced mutant strain of *Bordetella avium* that serves as a live-attenuated agent to stimulate a protective immune response. It is specifically designed for veterinary use and is administered to poults via spray at one day of age, followed by a booster administration in the drinking water at two weeks of age.
