Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ART24, also known as ADS024, is an orally administered, single-strain live biotherapeutic product (SS-LBP). [2] It consists of a pure, clonal strain of *Bacillus velezensis*. [3, 4] The drug was discovered through a collaboration between Artugen Therapeutics and APC Microbiome Ireland and is being developed by Adiso Therapeutics, which acquired Artugen. [4, 5] ART24 is intended for the prevention of recurrent *Clostridioides difficile* infection (CDI). [4, 6] Its mechanisms of action include directly killing *C. difficile* and producing proteases that degrade its toxins, TcdA and TcdB. [3, 4, 7] It has completed a Phase 1b clinical trial in patients recently cured of CDI. [2, 7]
