ART352-L is a liposomal formulation of recombinant human WNT3A protein developed as a regenerative medicine to enhance the osteogenic properties of autografts, particularly in elderly patients undergoing spinal fusion surgery for degenerative spondylolisthesis. The drug is applied ex vivo to harvested autologous bone grafts before reimplantation, with the goal of stimulating bone stem cells and increasing new bone formation. WNT3A acts as a potent pro-osteogenic signal, upregulating osteogenic genes and improving cell survival while reducing apoptosis in treated grafts. This approach addresses the unmet need for reliable bone healing in older individuals whose endogenous stem cells are less efficient at generating new bone[1][4][5][6][7].
