Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ART7 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapeutic candidate developed by Arnatar Therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic diseases. It is designed to target and modulate the expression of Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) using the company's proprietary DARGER™ (Dual-modality platform for siRNA and ASO) platform. While traditional ASOs often function by downregulating target mRNA, Arnatar's platform is specifically engineered to enable the upregulation of target proteins. FGF21 is a metabolic hormone that plays a crucial role in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, and its upregulation is a recognized therapeutic approach for conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). As of early 2024, ART7 is in the Pre-Clinical Candidate (PCC) stage of development.
